SpaceX's 6 rocket failures before Starship

Falcon 1Rocket

In 2006, the first Falcon 1 rocket failed to reach orbit due to a fuel leak and fire.

Third  Falcon 1Rocket

In 2008, the third Falcon 1 rocket failed to reach orbit due to a separation failure of the first and second stages.

 seventh Falcon 9

In 2015, the seventh Falcon 9 rocket exploded shortly after liftoff due to a faulty strut that broke and caused a helium tank to rupture

 Ninth Falcon 9

In 2016, the ninth Falcon 9 rocket exploded on the launch pad during a static fire test due to a breach in the second stage helium system.

 fourth Starship prototype

In 2020, the fourth Starship prototype exploded during a pressure test due to a leak in the liquid oxygen tank.

In 2023,SpaceX’s Starship rocket exploded on Thursday, minutes after lifting off from a launchpad in South Texas.

These are some of the major failures that SpaceX has experienced in its rocket development and launch history. However, despite these setbacks, SpaceX has also achieved many milestones and successes in its quest to make space exploration more affordable and accessible.
