Jayson Tatum is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on March 3, 1998, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Justin Tatum and Brandy Cole. He was raised by his mother as a single parent, but his father was always supportive of him. He started playing basketball at an early age and became a star player at Chaminade College Preparatory School. He won several awards and honors in high school, including the Gatorade National Player of the Year and the McDonald’s All-American. He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils for one season before entering the 2017 NBA draft. He was selected by the Boston Celtics with the third overall pick and made an immediate impact as a rookie.
