Rohan Machanda Bopanna is an Indian tennis athlete who is a specialist in playing doubles only. He became the oldest first time number one at aged 43 ranking the world over after winning his first major Doubles title at the Australian Open held in 2024 with Matthew Ebden. He is a French Open mixed doubles champion in 2017 and achieved the mixed doubles with Gabriela Dabrowski and has splayed three other major finals in his career. He is associated with the Indian team that competes in the Davis Cup and participated at the Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016.

At the age of 11 years, Bopanna took the courts to learn and started his professional career in 2003. Bopanna has won 24 ATP world tennis doubles tournaments. Of these, five were in the Masters 1000. Has also participated in 4 Grand Slam finals, winning two in doubles and two mixed doubles, winning the 2017 French Open mixed doubles alongside Gabriela Dabrowski and the men’s doubles Australian Open in 2024 with Ebden. He has been part of the Indian Davis cup team since 2002 and has participated in the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. He has also received two gold medals in Asian Games held in the year 2018 and 2022.
